About

Foursquare is a New York City-based company with a technology platform and various other products designed to utilize the location of users for advertising and consumer purposes. In addition to its headquarters, the company has offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, and Singapore.Companies that use Foursquare's technology include Uber, Tencent, Apple, Samsung, and Twitter.

Product

The company has two mobile applications, both of which are available for Android and iOS. The first app is called 'Swarm' and can be utilized to 'check-in' at locations so that users can show others where they are located. Users can earn badgers and mayorships depending on where they go. It is intended to be used as 'lifelogging' and users can take a picture as a memory of the time they visited a place.

Foursquare's other app is called 'City Guide' and allows for users to enter their location and what they are looking for in the city, such as restaurants or shopping. The app will show places that meet the users criteria in the form of a ranking. Users can also see where the establishments are on a map and get directions.

The company also offers other technology products that are intended for business purposes for professions such as developers, marketers, and analysts. The products utilize location technology and data for marketing purposes and can be used for media planning as well.
