Ouster is a San Francisco-based company specializing in semiconductors, optics, signal processing, computer vision, and high volume manufacturing. The 3D LIDAR sensors that the company builds can be utilized for autonomous vehicles, robotics, drones, mapping, mining, defense, and more.
The company has several products, some of which are known as OS0, OS1, and OS2, all of which are LIDAR sensors and are available in both first generation and second generation products. The OS0 has a 90º field of view and minimum range of zero. It is available for purchase for a starting price of $6,000. It creates a uniformly spaced point cloud and pixel-aligned 2D camera images for data processing, labeling, and algorithm application.
The OS1 is a mid-range LIDAR-sensor starting at $3,500. It allows for 3D sensing to be used on any platform and uses 128 vertical beams for object identification. The OS2 is a long-range LIDAR sensor and can be purchased at a starting price of $16,000. It is intended to be used for commercial deployment and has a 200+ meter range.
