Subsidiaries of the Mozilla Corporation are Thimble, Mozilla Foundation, Firefox Send, Firefox Private Network, and Firefox Lockbox.
Firefox is an internet browser product made by Mozilla Corporation. Firefox is made to protect user privacy and not provide back doors to advertisers looking to obtain user data. It can block third party tracking cookies, block autoplay, block social trackers, take in-browser screen shots, allows users to have a master password, is available on multiple operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux), and supports use in over 90 languages.
On February 27, 20217 Mozilla Corporation announced acquiring Pocket, a company offering an application for saving and retrieving documents and videos from websites, for an undisclosed amount of money. The disposition of Pocket after the acquisition was made was that Pocket remains a separate entity from Mozilla Corporation.
Gigabit Community Fund
On January 1, 2012 Mozilla Corporation announced awarding grant money ranging from $10,000 to $30,000 to companies totalling $1.2 million from its Gigabit Community Fund. The grants were made to education organizations requiring the grant money to deliver at least 1 gigabit per second internet speeds to their customers. Companies receiving support from the Gigabit Community Fund were operating in Chattanooga, Tennessee; Kansas City, Missouri; Austin, Texas; Eugene, Oregon; and Lafayette, Louisiana.
Mozilla Secure Open Source (SOS) Fund
On June 9, 2016 Mozilla Corporation announced raising $500,000 for their Mozilla Secure Open Source (SOS) Fund. The Mozilla Secure Open Source (SOS) Fund is made to support open-source cybersecurity, code auditing, and software bug fixing projects. The fund will be used to pay cybersecurity firms to perform code audits of open-source projects and help implement software management and software development.
