For the U.S. Department of State, DHARA works on the DREAM and CAEIO projects and provides global enterprise infrastructure support on the visa and passport systems, modernization of an Oracle database to EXADATA, CCD maintenance, and support for other special projects such as HealthCheck for Online Passport Renewal (OPR).
For the U.S. Air Force, DHARA works on the C4ISR project providing enterprise architecture and solutions architecture support to various mission-critical systems and programs within the intelligence community. Additional work includes supporting cloud migration to Amazon C2S (IaaS, PaaS), assisting with evaluating, developing, and testing the PlatformOne software factory in Amazon C2S, and evaluating various artificial intelligence (AI) frameworks relevant to intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR) activities.

Dhara Consulting Group was founded in Maryland in 1997 by Sastry Dhara. The company originally focused on software development projects in the private sector. Notably, DHARA helped launch RFID into the commercial space by working with its customer GS1 US and MIT. In 2007, DHARA transitioned to the public sector focusing on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Department of Defense (Defense Health Agency), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Department of State.
