Vidyard is a company providing a video marketing platform for businesses. It participated in the S11 cohort of Y Combinator.

Vidyard is a developer of a video marketing platform designed to assist businesses in transforming communications and driving revenue through the strategic use of online videos. The company's platform lets businesses expand their use of video content so they can turn viewers into customers. Vidyard offers tools to help organizations drive greater engagement in their video content, track viewing data of individual and group viewers, and help develop insights from views.

The Vidyard online video platform offers tools to help organizations develop engaging videos. This includes tools for video creation, management, sharing, optimization, and analytics and personalized video services.

Video creation

Vidyard allows users to create videos through screen recording, webcams, or both; organizations can also upload existing videos. Video creation is done without the need for special equipment or expertise. The creation tool includes simple video editing and thumbnail customization features, as well as integrations with different business productivity tools, including Gmail, Outlook, Android, iOS, Slack, Chrome, and Edge.

The platform's video creation tools include video sharing options, so users can send videos by email, post them to social networks, or share them however an organization wishes to, while allowing viewers to watch the videos on any device without needing to download attachments. Vidyard suggests the video creation tool is useful for these use cases and more:

  • Software and marketing demos
  • Customer onboarding and support
  • Analyst briefings
  • Customer stories
  • Sales outreach, pitches, and proposals
  • Meeting recaps and executive updates
  • Employee communications
  • New hire onboarding
  • Project status updates
  • Design and UX reviews
  • Internal IT support
Video hosting and management

Vidyard offers users video hosting and management services, where users can upload videos to Vidyard's video hosting platform. From here, users can share videos or a video library from specific links, uploaded them through drag-and-drop features, and post from the hosting platform onto websites, blogs, emails, intranets, or wherever an organization needs a video. Once embedded, Vidyard suggests the video will be offered with high-quality streaming without ads or other distractions. As well, users are able to add a custom video thumbnail or an animated GIF preview. Through the video hosting, Vidyard is also able to collect video analytics to give users insight into viewer behavior.

Through the video hosting and management platform, Vidyard offers faster video uploads regardless of format, with an uploader widget that can allow agencies or external users to add videos directly to a user library, and also manage the permissions and access to folders in the video library through password and SSO protection.

Video sharing

Users of the Vidyard platform are offered multiple ways to share videos, including an online video player that can be embedded wherever a user wants. The player supports video quality up to 4K and 360 video. Videos can be embedded in websites, emails, company portals, or knowledge bases. Organizations can create video hubs to curate videos in a central place that can be secured for internal-only access or be widely published. The platform offers view notification to alert organizations when a video has been watched and who watched it.

Video optimization

Videos can be optimized for calls to action, including buttons, links, and other devices for users to follow after watching. Videos can be optimized for SEO, with captions and metadata to rank better in searches. Vidyard offers automatic transcription services for video accessibility.

Video analytics

Vidyard offers analytics to help users understand more than how many people are watching a video, through the data and analysis dashboard. Information includes who is converting and for how long, video engagement, how users progress through videos, which team members are most active with videos, which videos drive the most views, and audience analytics. The data can then be used to help organizations refine their video strategies and offer tools to personalize sales outreach and follow-up.

As well, the video data offered can be integrated into CRM and marketing automation platforms, such as Salesforce, Marketo, and HubSpot, in order to qualify, segment, score, nurture, and engage leads with automated marketing systems. CRM contact records can be enriched with viewing data to help sales teams chase leads.

Video personalization

Vidyard's platform offers tools for video personalization, which the company suggests the platform can do at scale to create a large number of unique videos through individual viewer data, as simple as a user's name or company. Vidyard outlines that the workflow for developing personalized videos includes (1) identifying goals and best practices, (2) identifying a video (either new or existing) that can be developed (3) editing the video and adding personalized elements, and (4) sending the video to a sales teams, adding it to a website, or utilizing it in an email campaign.
