EPAM employs over 50,000 people and has locations in over forty countries. The company has an extensive network of partnerships in their portfolio including Google Apigee, Adobe, Acquia, AWS, IBM, Microsoft and more.

History, growth, and acquisitions

EPAM Systems was founded in 1993 by Arkadiy Dobkin and Leo Lozner. The two had met in grad school in Minsk, Belarus. At the time they started the company, it was headquartered both from Arkadidy Dobkin's home in New Jersey and Leo Lozner's home in Minsk. The following year, the company started working with their first big customer fashion retail company, Bally of Switzerland. In 1997, they began doing product development for Russian company SAP AG, and by 1999 the company had grown to employ over a one hundred people. In the years that followed, they continued to create global partnerships with customers such as Firepond Inc., KLA-Tencor Corporation, Honda Motor Co. Ltd., Ricoh Company Ltd., AT&T Inc., ABB (Asea Brown Boveri Ltd.), Hyperion, Reuters, ServiceWare, and LasVegas.com. In 2003, the LintecProject joined EPAM systems.

Though they had been very active in North America up to this point, EPAM began focusing on its expansion in Europe and other countries. This included the acquisition of Fathom Technology in 2004. They continued their European expansion, acquiring Russian software company VDI in 2006 and Spline Software the following year. EPAM acquired B2Bits Corp and PlusMicro in 2008, followed by Rodmon Systems in 2009. At this point, they had steadily been gaining new customers including Coca Cola, and Google, Inc. In 2012, EPAM went live on the NYSE and acquired companies Thoughtcorp and Empathy Lab. By 2013, the company employed over 13,000 people with locations in seveteen countries.

Over the following years, the company acquired Netsoft (2014), Jointech (2014), GGA (2014), Great Fridays (2014), Alliance Global Services (2015), Navigation Arts (2015), Dextrys (2016), InfomatiX (2016), Continuum (2018), TH_NK (2018). In 2019, they acquired test IO, Competentum, NAYA Technologies, Onsolve, and Axsphere. Epam continues to expand and make acquisitions in recent years. In 2020, they acquired Ricston, Ltd and Deltix, Inc and in 2021, they acquired CORE SE, White-Hat Ltd., PolSource, Just-BI, S4N, Emakina Group, Optiva Media.
