Aptos, also referred to as Aptos Labs, is a Web3 start-up building a layer-1 blockchain. The company is utilizing Move, the language originally developed for Diem, a blockchain initiative that has been abandoned. Aptos utilizes major elements of the former Diem blockchain and the Rust-based programming language that was independently developed by Meta.
Aptos launched its testnet campaign titled Aptos Incentivized Testnet (AIT). It has four stages, according to the start-up's roadmap: AIT1, AIT2, AIT3, and AIT4. The objective is to invite and incentivize node operators, developers, ecosystem builders, and auditors to deploy applications and stress-test the decentralized network before the launch of a production-grade Aptos mainnet.
AIT3 elapsed on September 9, 2022, in preparation for the final testnet, which will herald the mainnet launch. The platform's native token is APT. The APT token is utilized for the payment of transaction and network fees on Aptos. The fees will be charged on transactions on the network, and they are specified in Aptos tokens. The validators have the chance to prioritize the highest-value transactions on the network and set aside transactions of lower value.
