L3Harris Technologies is a Melbourne, Florida-based technology company, defense contractor, and information services provider that develops and produces C6ISR systems and products, wireless equipment, tactical radios, electronic systems, night vision equipment, microwave weaponry, electronic warfare, surveillance solutions, avionics, electronics systems, and both space and terrestrial antennas. L3Harris Technologies was the resulting company of the Harris Corporation and L3 Technology merger on June 29, 2019.
Harris Automatic Press Company was founded by Alfred S. Harris in Niles, Ohio in 1895. The company developed lithographic processes and printing presses before merging with antenna and circuit company Radiation, Inc. of Melbourne, Florida. L-3 Communications was formed in 1997 to acquire business units from Lockheed Martin. L-3 expanded to become one of the top ten U.S. government contractors, and changed its name to L3 Technologies, Inc. at the end of 2016.
The two companies, Harris Corporation and L3 Technologies, announced an all-stock merger in October 2018 which was completed on June 29, 2019 to form L3 Harris Technologies, Inc.
