Apigee

An information technology services company. It was acquired by Google in 2016 for a reported $625 million.

Apigee is a California-based technology company that has created an application programming interface (API) platform called "Apigee Edge". It allows for a client's runtime to be hosted anywhere using a cloud. It is intended to be used by enterprises and developers.

Product

The company's product can create various types of apps including consumer, employee, partner, and cloud apps. It also has a system of records and access to the Internet of Things. Using the platform, developers can design, secure, publish, analyze, monitor, and monetize APIs. There is a developer portal so that the experts can test their APIs. The microservices feature on Apigee allows for developers to manage said services. There is also a operations team that is a part of the company which functions as quality control for the APIs and alerts the client to any issues that may arise.

In 2019, Apigee announced that its product "Apigee Hybrid" was in beta testing. The product allows for APIs to be used across various environments.
