Tesla, Inc., is an American company that manufactures electric vehicles, batteries and solar energy products and formerly known as Tesla Motors.
Elon Musk and a group of engineers founded Tesla in 2003 and is headquartered in Palo Alto, California. Musk is the CEO and product architect of Tesla. Its vehicles and components are produced at its factory in Fremont, California.
Tesla, Inc., opened Gigafactory, a lithium-ion battery factory and acquired SolarCity, a solar energy services provider. It caters household and commercial demands for energy products that incorporate solar, storage, and grid services.

Tesla's Model 3 sedan has received the "top safety pick plus" designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Model S unveilling
Tesla officially announced the Model S sedan at a press release on June 30, 2008. The first ten customers received their cars at the Fremont factory on June 22, 2012 at the official launch. Production grew from 15–20 cars completed per week in August 2012 to about 1,000 cars per week in 2015.
Tesla Roadster unveilling
Tesla announced their first sports car, the Tesla Roadster, based on the Lotus Elise chassis. It has a range of 393 kilometres (244 mi), a top speed of 201 km/h (125 mph) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 3.7 or 3.9 seconds depending on the model.
Production of the electric car started in 2008 and ended in 2012.
