Ojah is a food technology company located in Ochten, Gelderland, Netherlands, making plant-based meat out of soy and/or yellow peas mixed with water using proprietary high moisture extrusion technology. The company was founded by Frank Giezen, Jeroen Willemsen, and Wouter Jansen in 2009. Products made by Ojah are free of gluten, preservatives, and additives, and in 2010 Ojah began selling its first products in stores across the Netherlands.
In 2012 the Dutch Chamber of Commerce announced that Ojah is the most innovative small to medium sized enterprise operating in the Netherlands.
In 2013, Ojah was officially certified by the British Retail Consortium (BRC).
On February 1, 2017, Korys Fund Investments acquired Ojah for an undisclosed sum in a leveraged buyout acquisition.
On April 18, 2018, Kerry acquired Ojah for $24.6 million after receiving permission from the European Commission.
