Mixhalo’s technology allows attendees to stream live audio in real time (<1/10 second) directly from the audio source to their own devices and headphones. The product allows users at sporting events, conferences, interpretation activities, music festivals or any live event to plug directly into the live audio source in real time using Mixhalo’s closed WIFI (not event WIFI) network, which does not interfere with nor depend upon other WIFI networks. End users access it via the Mixhalo app or as an SDK embedded in an event provider’s app.
Mixhalo’s low-latency, network-based data delivery platform consists of three key parts:
· A server connecting directly to a sound mixer or public address system
· A custom wireless solution with no tax on venue requiring neither WIFI nor a cellular network
· A mobile app delivering sound directly to attendees’ own phones*
Venues and live event organizers connect the server to their sound mixer or PA system to begin the process. Mixhalo’s custom protocol is optimized for light-weight reliable delivery and is compatible with the most common live audio hardware and software platforms.
A wireless solution is deployed through Mixhalo antennas, designed for real-time data transmission. The audio data is ingested and compressed -- while preserving fidelity -- and packetized using a proprietary protocol (similar to RTP). It is then forwarded to the Mixhalo wireless solution and received by event attendees via the free Mixhalo app or the venue or organizer’s own app (via Mixhalo SDK**).
Mixhalo’s partners can monetize the platform as they see fit while providing a free, enhanced audio experience to all of their guests. One way to monetize Mixhalo includes allowing fans to pay for VIP tickets to observe the concert from the side of the stage while utilizing the product.
Mixhalo was co-founded by Mike Einziger and Ann Marie Simpson-Einziger in 2016. Mixhalo closed Series A financing in 2019, raising $10.71M from Foundry Group, Founders Fund, Sapphire Sport, Defy VC, Cowboy Ventures, and Red Light Management and a group of angels who joined prior investors including Metallica, Pharrell, Rick Rubin, Jude Gomila, Another Planet, Superfly, and C3.
