Horizen (company)

Horizen was founded by Robert Viglione and Rolf Versluis.

Robert Viglione is co-founder and CEO of Horizen Labs and co-founder and president of the Zen Blockchain Foundation. He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of South Carolina and worked as an Operations Research Analyst at Lanmark Technology. He has also worked as a senior analyst at Tecolote Research and as a project manager for the US Air Force.

Rolf Versluis is the co-founder and executive advisor of the Zen Blockchain Foundation. He is an experienced businessman in the IT industry and owns a medium-sized mining enterprise. In the past, Rolf worked for Cisco Systems, in the semiconductor industry, and was also a nuclear weapons trained officer in the US submarine fleet.

Jane Lippencott was a member of the founding team and co-author of the project's original white paper. She is now a partner at Winklevoss Capital. She is also a member of 2021 VC Cohort at All Rise and is a consultant at Teller Finance. Jane is also a mentor for the Open Web Collective, Celo, and Katapult Accelerator. She is a contributor to Nakamoto.com. She has served as a mentor at Blockchain for Social Impact Coalition (BSIC), at dLab and at Ethereum Classic Labs, as an advisor at Unbounded Capital, as a mentor at Techstars, and as a board member of Cord.
