Generation Investment Management

Generation Investment Management was founded in 2004 and has offices in London and San Francisco. The company is dedicated to long-term investing and integrates sustainability research into the traditional investment process. Generation Investment Management strives to promote a more sustainable form of capitalism that integrates environmental, social and governance externalities into its metrics.

Generation closed a $1 billion Sustainable Solutions Fund for growth investments in May 2019. As the name implies, it plans to put the $1 billion into later-stage startups that work on sustainability in at least one of three areas - environmental solutions; healthcare; and financial inclusion, including the future of work. This Generation IM Sustainable Solutions Fund III is the third and largest of its funds. It aims to invest between $50 million and $150 million in companies that help the health of the planet or individuals or drive financial inclusion.

In planetary health, the fund is focused on low carbon solutions in mobility, food, energy and enterprise. In people health, the fund is focused on health outcomes and a lower-cost, accessible healthcare system. In financial inclusion, the fund aims to support access to finance and an equitable future of work.
