DataFox is a company offering data collection and management of information regarding private and public companies, through the use of their artificial intelligence (AI) system. DataFox was established in 2013 by Alden Timme, Bastiaan Janmaat, Ben Trombley, and Mike Dorsey. After being acquired by Oracle in 2018, DataFox now operates as one of Oracle’s services. DataFox is based in San Francisco, California.

Before Oracle’s acquisition in 2018, DataFox managed to amass $11.8 million in capital through four funding rounds. The company’s final funding round was held on November 2017, raising $5 million. DataFox has received financing from Green Visor Capital, StartX, Goldman Sachs, and Jawed Karim.

DataFox’s main product is its Company Intelligence Platform, where clients can access and manage the latest information about companies in DataFox’s database. Provided data for each company include employee number, financial status, and recent media coverage. The platform is also supported with additional functionalities, such as determining company rankings based on certain metrics through Account Scoring and Advanced Insights. DataFox’s platform can be integrated into existing customer relationship management (CRM) software such as Salesforce or intra-company communication platform such as Slack. DataFox’s products are intended for use by business-to-business (B2B) companies to acquire new company clients. Companies who have utilized DataFox’s platform were Bain & Company, Goldman Sachs, and Twilio.
