DBL Partners is a venture capital firm. The firm is based in San Francisco, California and was founded in 2015. DBL uses venture capital to accelerate innovation in a way that affects an organization's social impact as well as its financial success.
Investments are made in private, primarily mid-to-late stage growth companies across all industries, with a focus on the strengths of the Bay Area including: Clean Technology, Health Care, Specialty Consumer Products and Services, and Information Technology. The Fund can lead or co-invest with other funds and has made over 30 investments to date. The Fund's limited partner investors include major banks and insurance companies, foundations, corporations and private individuals.
DBL Investors manages two funds: the Bay Area Equity Fund I, a $75 million venture capital fund, and the DBL Equity Fund II, a $150.8 million venture capital fund. The DBL Investors team completed its spinout from JPMorgan in January of 2008. The Fund invests in companies that can deliver market-rate venture capital returns while enabling social, environmental and economic improvement in the San Francisco Bay Area's low and moderate income neighborhoods.
DBL Investors' investments include Andela, UrbanSitter, Advanced Microgrid Solutions, Farmers Business Network, Apeel Sciences, The Muse, Kateeva, The RealReal, Wholeshare and Ruby Ribbon.
They exited their investments in The RealReal, SolarCity, eMeter, OPX Biotechnologies, Wholeshare and MeeVee.
