Carta (formerly eShares) is a San Francisco based cap table management platform that offers 409A valuations, products for investors and public companies.

Carta (formerly eShares) is an equity management platform and an SEC registered transfer agent for private and public companies, investors, and employees.

Carta manages over $575 billion in assets and works with over 700,000 security holders at more than 13,000 companies including Away, Coinbase, Flexport, Kickstarter, Intercom, and Robinhood. Carta helps companies and investors manage their cap tables, valuations, portfolio investments, and equity plans. Founded in 2012, Carta has raised $450 million from Andreessen Horowitz, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Union Square Ventures, Spark Capital, Menlo Ventures, and Tribe Capital.

$300M Series E

Carta raised $300 million at a post-money valuation of $1.7 billion. The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Goldman Sachs Principal Strategic Investments, Tribe Capital, Menlo Ventures, Meritech, Tiger Global Management and Thrive Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Marc Andreessen will join Carta’s board.

May 2019

Carta raises a $318,000,000 series E round from Tiger Global Management, Menlo Ventures, Thrive Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Tribe Capital, Meritech Capital Partners and Andreessen Horowitz.

January 2019

Carta raises a $80,000,000 series D round from Meritech Capital Partners and Tribe Capital.

December 27, 2018

$80m Series D

Carta announced an $80 million Series D at a valuation of $800 million on December 27, 2018. The company raised the capital from lead investors Meritech and Tribe Capital.

October 2017

Carta raises a $42,000,000 series C round from Menlo Ventures and Social Capital.
