Arda Therapeutics

Arda Therapeutics was founded in August 2021 to develop therapeutics aimed at pathological cells and their removal from a body in order to cure disease. The company was founded by Adam Freund.Previous to founding Arda Therapeutics, Freund worked as a scientific advisor for Etalon Diagnostics and as a principal investigator for Calico Life Sciences.

The company was founded on the understanding of cells roles in functional units of disease. As such, diseases caused by an excess of pathological cell types, which are not targeted by current pharmacological solutions, are expected to be targeted by the company. This is based on the effectiveness of the elimination of an entire pathological network, or an entire cell, and therapeutics to do so.

Arda Therapeutics is developing those therapeutics through the use of single-cell data from patients, which is used to identify which cells to target and how best to target them. From that information, the company intends to design therapeutics to remove those cells and only those cells. Arda's approach is to develop first-in-class therapies for multiple diseases, while respecting the system's nature of biology, using the full value of single-cell data and increasing the therapeutic options by selecting targets from the cell surface proteome.
