Verge is a decentralized, open-source cryptocurrency with a focus on anonymous transactions.
The Verge cryptocurrency was created in 2016 by a team of 16 programmers whose names are still unknown. Its creators call security the main feature of cryptocurrency. The Wraith protocol allows token holders to store transactions in an open or closed form, while they enter the blockchain using Tor technology, which does not allow the real address of the sender to be calculated. In addition, all data in the Verge network is mixed and after that it is written to the blockchain.
Verge's encryption process uses multiple anonymity-focused networks such as I2P and TOR, making user transactions on its platform cluttered and untraceable. With built-in SSL and TOR encryption, edge encryption can be stored in QT's core encryption package for privacy and security. Edge encryption time potentially uses dual-key addressing and circular confidential transactions to ensure the privacy and security of user transactions.
Verge is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency and blockchain that seeks to offer a fast, efficient, decentralized payments network that improves upon the original Bitcoin (BTC) blockchain. It includes additional privacy features including integrating the anonymity network Tor into its wallet, called vergePay, and providing the option of sending transactions to stealth addresses.
The project describes itself as community-driven, relying on volunteers and priding itself on being open source.
Verge was first launched in October 2014 as DogeCoinDark, a fork of Peercoin (PPC). In February 2016, it was renamed Verge in order to rebrand for easier mass-market adoption and to distinguish itself from Dogecoin (DOGE), with which it has no direct connection. The project is now based on the Bitcoin source code.
