Velodyne LiDAR is a San Jose, California-based company that manufactures lidar (light detection and ranging) sensor products. Lidar applications include Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicle systems, mapping, drones, robotics, smart cities, and security. The company was founded in 1983 by David Hall, who invented 3D Lidar in 2005.
