Overview

Unbound Security is an enterprise cryptography management and security solutions provider with offices in New York City and Petah Tikva, Israel. Unbound Security was founded in 2013 by Yehuda Lindell, an Australian-born cryptography specialist and computer science professor at Bar-Ilan University in Israel; Professor Nigel Smart, a British cryptography professional; and Guy Peer, a senior software and security engineer. The company’s Unbound CORE (Cryptographic Orchestration Reimagined for Enterprise) product provides businesses a unified cryptographic key management and infrastructure security solution that can secure multiple enterprise environments and locations from a single place. Unbound CORE uses secure multi-party computation (MPC)and is FIPS 140-2 Level 2 certified.

Funding

In February 2015, the company, under the previous name Dyadic Security, was awarded the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument Grant of €2M ($2.28M) and closed its first round of funding from Innovation Endeavors in the amount of $3M. In March 2017, the company received $12M Series B funding from Innovation Endeavors, Citi Ventures and Goldman Sachs. Unbound Security completed another $20M Series B funding in November 2020 with Evolution Equity Partners.

Acquisition

In November 2021, the company was acquired by Coinbase. In early 2022, LinkedIn lists thirty employees for the company.
