Evonik Industries AG is an industrial enterprise headquartered in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. As of November 2019, it is the biggest speciality chemicals company in the world. Owned by the RAG Foundation, it was founded on September 2007 due to the rebuilding of the mining and technology group RAG.
The company’s specialty chemical business produces around 80% of sales in regions where it holds top market positions. In November 2019, Evonik Industries had around 33,000 employees and operates in more than 100 countries.
In fiscal year 2018, the company had sales of around € 13,3 billion and an operating profit (adjusted EBITDA) of around € 2.15 billion.
