Emanate

Emanate is a blockchain audio exchange protocol built on top of block.one's EOSio software. Emanate is a music monetization platform that allows to split payments between collaborators and rights holders instantly, as audio is consumed. The company also offers EMT tokens to its clients.

The Emanate network was launched by the Australian-based Blockchain Music team, and Blockchain Music owns the Emanate IP and trademarks. The founders are involved as reps and custodians in order to have hands-on experience of the co-op. Blockchain Music is responsible for the fundraising, the initial build of the software, and for delivering the Alpha, beta, and the production Emanate network. The decentralized autonomous community called "EMC," the Emanate Music Co-operative was created to manage the network. Emanate partnered with eosDAC in 2018 and plans to work together on Emanate's governance.

The intent is for sections of the protocol to become open source, and for the community to gradually take over. Over time, Emanate will become extra decentralized as regards to technology and governance, and the role of Blockchain Music will reduce as the community grows. The EMT token dashboard was developed from a fork of the eosDAC member client, and the cohesion will remain. Emanate will structure its governance around learnings from eosDAC’s DAC launch, use the DAC toolkit to develop on-chain governance software, develop musician-friendly communications around the eosDAC framework, and eosDAC members will receive an EMT airdrop as an incentive to join up and facilitate the Musical Co-op.
