Common Networks is a San Francisco-based company that builds internet using local connections. It uses wireless 5G hardware to connects its clients to the internet. It stated goal is to provide people in the United States who are forced through a monopoly to patronize an internet provider with another solution for their internet needs.
The company uses wireless hardware, smart software, and graph-based networking to create its product and is available throughout parts of California. Each customer receives a piece of hardware to be placed on their roof so that it can receive wireless signals and also relay those signals to other homes, expanding the network area. There is also a common networks outdoor router for each client. The hardware is remotely controlled and is compliant with the Federal Communications Commission.
Common Network combines millimeter wave and microwave technology to create its 5G internet. The network itself is cloud-based and follows a custom routing protocol based on Common Network's graph of clients.
