As the outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus) has caused a global shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE). American Giant, and their coalition of eleven clothing brands, have retrained all of their sewers to make medical-grade masks. Their brands include Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, and Los Angeles Apparel have began manufacturing PPE for healthcare workers. Equipping hospital workers with tools to combat against COVID-19 has become the to priority for these brands as they have set out to make one million certified masks per week.
