Two Bear Capital (TBC) was founded and is led by venture capitalist and Montana philanthropist Michael Goguen. With professionals in Whitefish, Montana; the San Francisco Bay area; and San Diego, TBC invests in early-stage companies with products or innovations at the intersections of biotechnology, bioinformatics, machine learning and artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity that could deliver solutions for problems affecting human health, security, and wellness. TBC was founded in 2019.
Two Bear Capital's approach is to invest in early-stage, founder-led companies in the artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, healthcare, and biotechnology companies that TBC feels can provide solutions to human problems and provide positive change with exponential growth in value. With the capital, TBC works to provide portfolio companies with talent, skills, and experience to help guide companies through the stages of growth. The goal of TBC is to build a virtuous cycle of economic opportunity, create companies that can provide jobs for communities, and work to make the world a better place.
The investments made by TBC are regionally focused on Montana, the Pacific Northwest, Boston, New York City, the Bay Area, and San Diego. The values TBC works to bring to its investments include a focus on razor-sharp logic, fostering differences as a source of strength, stoking passion, serving others, and pursuing learning, which TBC feels can lay a foundation for making a positive impact.
