Headquartered in Mojave Air and Space Port in 2005, in Mojave, California, it is building and testing a fleet of WhiteKnightTwo carrier aircraft and SpaceShipTwo reusable spaceships, Virgin Galactic's human spaceflight system.
The company is capable of building and producing more than just spaceships, and is capable of providing preliminary vehicle designs and analysis, manufacturing, ground testing, flight testing, and post-delivery support.
The Spaceship Company offers capabilities such as materials development, composite layups and assembly, system integration and testing, industrial oven and autoclaving, CFD analysis, simulations, large scale testing, and more.
In addition to producing the WhiteKnightTwo and Virgin's SpaceShipTwo, the company is also responsible for offering motor component fabrication and assembly, filament winding, industrial size aerospace autoclaving, and demonstrating test capabilities.
The company, along with Virgin Galactic formed a new partnership with NASA with the focus of holding the goal of developing a high-speed vehicle for point-to-point travel across Earth.
