Sub-Zero (brand)

Sub-Zero is a company that has developed and manufactured food preservation systems since 1945. The company was founded in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. The company was originally launched as Sub-Zero Freezer Company when they released their first food preservation system that reached temperatures that were below zero.

Sub-Zero has partnered with two companies, Wolf and Cove, in order to expand their catalogue range into dishwashers, cooking appliances such as ovens, cook tops, ranges, ventilation, microwaves, coffee systems, and more. The Wolf brand is focused on making cooking products, Sub-Zero makes refrigeration systems, and Cove makes dishwashing products.

The company has created a dual refrigeration system under their Sub-Zero brand with separate cooling systems for the refrigerator and freezer in order to minimize food spoilage and freezer burn. Their air filtration system removes ethylene gas and odor-generating bacteria, and was inspired by technology used by NASA.

Sub-Zero products include refrigerators, wine refrigerators and freezers, freezers, and icemakers. They make products in two styles, designer and classic, with internal ice makers, that are wi-fi enabled, and are rated for use outdoors. The company's Sub-Zero products can be purchases in multiple configurations which include column, drawer, over & under, and undercounter.

Wolf cooking products are made to be professional kitchen grade quality. Wolf products include: microwaves, ranges, cooktops and rangetops, built-in ovens, module cooktops, kitchen ventilation systems, warming drawers, coffee systems, outdoor grills, and vacuum seal drawers.

Cove products are made for washing dishes. Their are two dishwasher products made by Cove which are a 24" dishwasher that is panel ready and another 24" dishwashers with a water softener that is panel ready. All cove dishwashers are made to have their exteriors customized with custom handles, cabinetry, and interior to make the dishwasher fit in with the style of the room and lifestyle of its owner.

Sub-Zero manufactures their products in Madison, Wisconsin; Fitchburg, WisconsinPhoenix, Arizona; Goodyear, Arizona; and Richmond, Kentucky. Their products include full-sized refrigerator/freezer combos, wine storage systems, and under-counter refrigerators.

In March 2000 Sub-Zero acquired the Wolf Range Corporation for an undisclosed amount of money. The acquisition was made for expanding the Sub-Zero product line into manufacturing professional ranges, cooktops, and grills for commercial and home use.
