Ortho Kinematics is a Texas based medical diagnostic technology company developing a motion analysis and reporting system for human spine-related problems. The company uses its technology to provide better insights into the spinal examinations to help medical professionals make better decisions.
StateraSpine is a subsidiary which is a privately held diagnosis company developing Profile-ESP, an analytical platform for spinal radiographs. The company promotes its platform building upon Ortho Kinematic’s VMA platform. Profile-ESP (Expanded Spine Parameters) analyzes spinal motion and alignment data of the spine and creates an easy to understand graphical report. VMA (Vertebral Motion Analysis) is a system of hardware and software that uses fluoroscopy imaging to analyze spinal instability and sagittal alignment accurately.
The expanded spine parameters report addresses limitations with current imaging and radiological reporting systems by providing quantitative data about the spine to guide treatment decisions. The reporting system is developed to analyze spine radiographs from current systems to diagnose and monitor function or alignment with a completed stitched lateral image of the spine. The reports are exchanged through secured PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and can be retrieved within a few hours of imaging.
The VMA system is a combination of medical hardware and software developed to test and analyze the spinal instability in a human patient. The spine imaging is performed with a standard surgical C-arms (fluoroscopes) and offers a lower radiation exposure to patients. The system assists patients through multiple spine bend positions to accurately detect lumbar radiographic instability. The technology could replace the traditional way of hand measuring spine motion from multiple static x-ray images.
Once the imaging completes, the images are uploaded to a cloud server where measurements are made, and a report is created. The report and images are made available within a few hours and are integrated with a PACS system or can be viewed on a browser on any internet connected device. In addition to making patient consultation more effective, patients can use the information to get approved by Insurance companies.
Adam Deitz and Avi Lior founded Ortho Kinematics in 2006 and is headquartered in Austin, Texas. StateraSpine joined Ortho Kinematic on Nov 19, 2018, as a subsidiary.
