Mapillary is a street-level imagery platform that uses computer vision to fix the world's maps that is headquartered in Malmo, Sweden and was founded in 2013 by Jan Erik Solem, Johan Gyllenspetz, Peter Neubauer, and Yubin Kuang. The company's platform allows users to take images and videos themselves to help improve street-level imagery and map data. Seed

On January 15, 2015 Mapillary completed their seed funding round with $1.5 million in seed funding from Sequoia Capital (lead investor), Wellington Partners, Walking Ventures, Playfair Capital, LDV Capital, Jeremy Yap, and Carl Silbersky.

Series A

On March 3, 2016 Mapillary completed their series A funding round with $8 million in funding from Atomico (lead investor), Sequoia Capital, Playfair Capital, and LDV Capital. The company plans on using their series A funding to open a new office in San Francisco, California and to hire more computer vision engineers for improving the company's product.

Series B

On April 12, 2018 Mapillary completed their series B funding round with $15 million in funding from GMW i Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Samsung Catalyst Fund, NavInfo, LDV Capital, and Atomico. The company plans on using their funding to help Mapillary expand globally. The CEO of Mapillary, Erik Solem, made the following statement regarding the company's series B round:

The world is still just scratching the surface of autonomous driving and we know that the demand for a collaborative platform that works across different systems and maps will be steadily growing as autonomous cars hit the streets in increasing numbers. That’s the platform we’ve been building since we started out in 2013, and our new investors’ expertise in both the automotive industry and map data distribution will help us realise Mapillary’s global potential in the coming years

Mapillary raises a $8,000,000 series A round from LDV Capital, Atomico, Sequoia Capital and Playfair Capital.

January 15, 2015

Mapillary raises a $1,500,000 seed round from Walking Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Playfair Capital, Wellington Partners, Carl Silbersky, LDV Capital and Jeremy Yap.
