Initially established in 1930 in Neckarsulm, Germany, Lidl & Schwarz KG is a wholesaler of a range of food products. In 1973, the inaugural Lidl store was launched in Ludwigshafen-Mundenheim, Germany. In 1994, the brand opened ten British stores across the country.
Much of what Lidl carries stems from its own private label, Preferred Selection. The international grocery store also brings in different products from other countries, like pasta from Italy, chocolate from Germany, and cured meats from Spain. It also sells popular brands, like Jif, Coca-Cola, SeaPak, So Delicious, and others. Apart from food, Lidl has a rotating selection of different goods, ranging from sewing machines to furniture, clothing, and footwear.
