Insikt is a San Francisco-based company founded in 2014 by James Gutierrez.

Provider of white-label lending services intended to offer affordable, credit-building loans to working families. The company uses its proprietary scoring algorithms to review and approve credit applications as well as provides free credit scores and personalized expense management guidance to borrowers, enabling working population in America to access loans in a simplified manner.

Aura is a technology-powered, Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that provides small, affordable loans. Their mission is to build financially healthy low-income communities, by providing empowering financial services to America's 66-million underbanked and unbanked. Aura has pioneered a cloud-based lending technology that enables trusted local businesses to submit credit applications for centralized review and approval by its proprietary scoring algorithms.


Aura raised their Seed Round in March 2013 with a total of $1.3 million. Investors included Timothy Dattels, Rajiv Ghatalia, Philip Purcell, Peterson Ventures, Kinnevik AB, Daniel Carrol and Accelerator Ventures.

Series A

Aura raised their Series A financing in December 2013 with a total of $7 million. FirstMark Capital led the round which included participation from Tom Villante, Serengeti Asset Management, Rajiv Ghatalia, Philip Purcell, Jeremy Philips, Daniel Carroll, Continental Investors and Accelerator Ventures.

Series B

In July, 2014, Aura raised their Series B with a total of $17.2 million. Revolution led the financing round which included investments from Serengeti Asset Management, Propel Venture Partners, Philip Purcell, Peterson Ventures, Matt Coffin, Mark Troughton, John Waldron, Jefferies and Hennessey Wellness.

Series C

Aura raised their Series C financing in November 2016 with $25.5 million raised from Rakuten and FirstMark Capital.

Series D

In November, 2017 Aura raised their Series D with $50 million. Coppel Capital led the investment round with participation from Revolution, FirstMark Capital and Colchis Capital Management.


December 2017
Insikt raises a $50,000,000 series D round from Colchis Capital, Coppel Capital, FirstMark Capital and Revolution Ventures.
Insikt was founded by James Gutierrez and Randal Wong.
