Founded in 2016, Propel Venture Partners is a venture capital investment firm that is based in San Francisco, California. The firm prefers to invest in Series A round with companies focusing on financial services and technology sectors.

Propel Venture Partners was started in 2016 when Spanish bank BBVA closed its in-house venture arm, BBVA Ventures. The BBVA Ventures portfolio and $250 million in funding where put into Propel Venture Partners. BBVA is a limited partner in Propel Venture Partners, who maintain their independence otherwise. Their investments focus on payments, credit, insurance, wealth management, e-commerce, security and compliance.

Propel Venture Partners also manages two investment vehicles on behalf of BBVA.
