Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), also known as हिमाचल प्रदेश विश्वविद्यालय, is a public university located in Shimla, India. It was founded in 1970 and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, the Bar Council of India, the University Grants Commission of India, and the National Council of Teacher Education. The university operates in the education, higher education, and university industries.
Himachal Pradesh University is affiliated with several organizations, including the Association of Commonwealth Universities, Association of Indian Universities, Medical Council of India, and the Distance Education Bureau. The university's motto is "Those, who are armed with knowledge, are skilful".
