The Haas Formula One Team debuted in 2016 and was the first all American-led Formula 1 team to participate in the F1 World Championship in thirty years. The team was founded by Gene Haas and is based out of Kannapolis, North Carolina. They share a facility with Gene Haas's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team, Stewart-Haas Racing. They also have a European base in Manor’s old Banbury factory. The team is powered by Ferrari.The team currently consists of Gene Haas, Guenther Steiner, Pietro Fittipaldi, Mick Schumacher, and Nikita Mazepin.
The team garnered attention with their debut at the F1 world championship, placing 8th in the years 2016 and 2017. In 2018, Haas took 5th place. In both 2019 and 2020, the team placed 9th. The Haas F1 team is currently participating in the 2021 championship with drivers Mich Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin. The team announced Uralkali as a title partner in March 2021, and the team was renamed Uralkali Haas F1.
Formula 1 is sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and is considered the highest class of international racing for single-seater formula racing cars. FIA was established on June 20, 1904. In 1981, it became known as the FIA Formula One World Championship. Grands Prix races are held over all over the world and these races make up a Formula 1 Season. The name Formula 1 refers to the "formula" or rules, along with the FIA grade one of the race track.
