Dearest is a company offering a marketplace for child enrichment programs, integrated through its platform. The company was founded by Eiko Nakazawa during her participation in Columbia University’s startup program in 2016. Dearest aims to connect parents with highly qualified educators for their children’s enrichment programs. The company is headquartered in New York City, New York.
Dearest operates their program in small groups, and thus parents can choose to enroll their children based on the schedule and location of these groups, as well as the suitability of the available programs. Dearest specializes in providing these programs for children at the early childhood stage. Dearest uses a personalized curriculum for each child, which focuses on developing five main aspects: executive function, language, motor, cognitive and social-emotional. The company accomplishes through the programs they develop, classified into two: School Readiness Program and After-school Program. The first program is intended for kids aged 2-4 years old, while the latter is for kids in pre-kindergarten ages to grade school. Both programs run for six months, with a maximum student to teacher ratio of 4:1.
