Crosslink Capital was founded in 1989 by Michael Stark and Seymour Franklin Kaufman as a spin-out from Robertson Stephens. It was founded as Omega Ventures and rebranded to Crosslink Capital in October 1999 to reflect its new focus on crossover investing.

Founded in 2005, Alpha is Crosslink Capital's invitation-only technology networking community, made up of over 2,000 high-ranking tech industry leaders, including founders, CEOs, and investors. Every year, Alpha hosts dozens of North American events in which industry leaders connect.
