Coast enables business users to provide an overview demo for customers to help them understand how to operate the user-specific API to complete tasks. The purpose of this overview is to show customers that the problem they are attempting to solve is understood and to provide assurance that the user's technology is suitable to be their prospective customer's solution. These overviews are custom and generated in real time on a case-by-case basis.
Every demo environment comes with the user's API pre-integrated, giving prospective customers the ability to interact with real workflows. Prospective customers may include technical decision-makers, such as product management, engineering, and business operations (BizOps) teams.
Coast helps users market their application user interface (API) to prospective customers by creating visual demos with the platform's API Visualizer tool. The API Visualizer shows how background processes are executed when a request is made in a custom user interface (UI) format.
With Coast, users can provide customers with a selection of interaction choices. These options can be loaded from a database or endpoint. Every session also creates a unique local database, so all of the customers' selections persist and can be used in other places on the page. For instance, depending on the answers given in a questionnaire, relevant articles can be retrieved and suitably filtered so they can be provided as suggestions to the customer. The aim of the API Visualizer tool is to allow users to experience a specific API workflow in a visual and interactive format.
The following are use cases of Coast's custom, user API-specific components:
- Users can upload their own multimedia to execute an action, such as optical character recognition (OCR) data extraction or speech-to-text capabilities
- Fintech APIs can enable users to send themselves a dollar to their bank account in real-time
- Universal APIs can aggregate a set of diverse data within a single call
