CloneX NFT collection consists of 20,000 3D avatar non-fungible tokens (NFTs) referred to as “Clones.” Each Clone in the collection is turnkey, created for the metaverse, as the collection marks the initial piece in Nike and RTFKT’s intended metaverse ecosystem. RTFKT was acquired by Nike in 2021. Each of the CloneX NFT avatars are part of one of eight subtypes, or “DNA types.”
About half of the CloneX NFTs are classified as human and three-tenths as robots. Angels, demons, reptiles, and "undeads" make up the remaining two-tenths of the total supply of the collection. With the Human CloneX DNA type, a fraction possesses the “vitiligo” trait.
Some of CloneX's objectives include the development of a marketplace for wearable items. CloneX also wants to design physical collectibles for NFT holders and offer access to certain events and experiences for holders. Users are able to customize their clones with 3D files from the Metaverse. CloneX partnered with Takashi Murakami, a Japanese pop artist, to create the Murakami DNA type in his style.
