The Blue Horizon Foundation is a non-profit principle investment firm operating out of Zurich, Switzerland. Roger Lienhard founded the Blue Horizon Foundation in 2017 to support the development of a sustainable global food system, increased global food security, enhanced global health, and improved animal rights. The Blue Horizon Foundation offers capital invest to food, agriculture, and media companies.
The company believes the growing global demand for animal proteins are driven by the worlds growing population (10+ billion by 2050), increased life expectancy, and rising per capita income in the developing world. The Blue Horizon Foundation predicts that from 2012 to 2050 we will need a 40% increase in grain production, and from 2017 to 2050 we will need to increase beef production by 70%, to meet global food demands.
