Blendle was a pay-per-article online journalism platform. The Netherlands-based company was founded in 2014 by Alexander Klöpping. Blendle allowed users to pay for individual articles from a wide variety of different partner newspapers. Shortly after its inception, Blendle amassed 1.5 million subscribers throughout the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, and the United States. In 2017, Blendle introduced a subscription service, Blendle Premium, to users in the Netherlands and Belgium, which delivered personalized articles to users based on their reading preferences. The company had a team of fifty people and was headquartered in Utrecht. In July 2020, it was announced that European news platform Cafeyn had acquired Blendle for an undisclosed amount.
