Adant Technology offers antenna technology for RF-based motion detection. The company's solutions do not use sensors based on light or heat, but rather uses Wi-Fi and wireless radio frequency signals to detect motion in an environment. When one or more inter-communicating radios are present in an environment, the space is filled with electromagnetic waves that are held at equilibrium that is affected by moving bodies. This is because the bodies absorb, reflect, and refract the electromagnetic waves. For the system to work, an environment needs a single Adant Technologies node in a space with the integrated motion detection; drivers can be loaded onto any Wi-Fi device to control the smart antenna, and the software then works to interpret the signals and understand any movement in a space.
Adant also offers location capabilities through their antenna technology, which the company says enables deep-sub-meter location capabilities for both Wi-Fi and BLE-based IoT gateways. The company's system uses multi-path and deep fading systems that send a signal multiple times around surrounding walls and obstacles to understand the location of a receiver. They utilize different radiation patterns to improve the time of arrival estimation.
Crowd monitoring and assisting was originally offered to help with monitoring and alerting during the COVID-19 pandemic. This feature includes real-time measurements of volumes of people, the ability to set limits for an area or zone and to monitor said area for increases or decreases in real time, and alerts and notifications when those limits are approached and exceeded. The company says the solution aligns with EU privacy and GDPR requirements and works with existing Wi-Fi infrastructure to measure, monitor, predict, alert, and notify for the potential of gatherings in venues or outdoor locations.
