Spelman College

Spelman College is a private educational institute located in Atlanta, United States. Founded in 1881, it is an historically black college and university with a focus on higher education and is part of the university industry. The school's motto is "Our whole school for Christ".

The college is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, and the American Chemical Society. It is affiliated with the Associated Colleges of the South and the Council of Independent Colleges.

Spelman College has been assigned six patents and has a subsidiary, the Spelman College Museum of Fine Art.
