Sound Agriculture is a privately held biotech company based in Emeryville, California. Formerly known as Asilomar Bio, the company develops technologies to help growers sustainable increase productivity. It does it by enhancing crop nutrient and water use through molecular discovery to create climate resilient crops. The company uses a combination of molecular biology and plant phenotyping to identify and optimize its technologies.

Sound's lead product, Source, is a crop input that stimulates natural microbes to increase the available nitrogen and phosphorus in the soil, allowing them to be used by the plant. Five years of field trials on corn has shown that Source improves yields by an average of 10 bushels per acre and up to 30 bushels per acre. Studies have also shown that Source can replace approximately 50 pounds of nitrogen per acre, decreasing the amount of synthetic nitrogen fertilizer needed.
