Sinovac Biotechnology is a Beijing-based biotechnology company specializing in developing, manufacturing, and distributing pharmaceuticals and vaccines. It predominately distributes its products in China but also distributes some vaccines to other countries, such as Mongolia, Nepal, and the Philippines. It has developed vaccines for illnesses including hepatitis A and B, seasonal influenza, H1N1 (swine flu), and mumps.
The company is developing a vaccine for COVID-19 using formaldehyde inactivated + alum technology. It is in the pre-clinical stage of development.
