Saint-Gobain dates back to 1665 when Louis XIV officially created the Manufacture des Glaces de miroirs company following the development of table pouring, a revelutionary manufacturing process for mirrors. Founded in Paris, the new company's main production site was in the small village of Saint-Gobain, which gave the company it's current name.
