Rune is a New York-based mobile application company that uses its platform to connect gamers playing cooperative games to teammates that align with their values. After using artificial intelligence to connect players to teammates, they can then communicate with teach other while engaging in multiplayer online games through a voice chat that runs as an independent application in the background of the video game while the participants play. The voice chat allows for collaboration among a group of participants who have been matched using artificial intelligence with the intended result of enhancing the playing experience.

Rune runs lucky draws in collaboration with PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds mobile application. The game is a multiplayer battle royale game. Participants can win monetary prizes by using both the Rune application and the mobile version of the game. Rune has noted that for this specific game there were issues with voice chat harassment and bullying, thus creating a need for an application such as Rune on the market.
