Robert S. Langer is a United States citizen, born on August 29, 1948, in Albany, New York. He is known for his work as a chemical engineer, engineer, biochemist, scientist, and inventor. Langer is the founder of Moderna Therapeutics and Selecta Biosciences, and he serves as a member of the board of directors for EpiBone and Frequency Therapeutics.
Langer was educated at The Milne School, Cornell University College of Engineering, Cornell University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Among his numerous accomplishments, Langer has mentored doctoral students, including Ali Khademhosseini, Samir Mitragotri, W. Mark Saltzman, and Elazer R. Edelman.
