Primark

Primark is an international clothing retailer serving clients across sixteen countries in Europe and the United States in over 400 stores. The company was established in Ireland in 1969, under the Penneys brand, and offers clothes for women, men, and children. The company also sells beauty products, homeware, and accessories.

In 1974, the company opened its foremost United Kingdom store in Derby, which expanded over the years to 191 stores in the UK. In 2006, Primark opened a store in Madrid, Spain, where they grew to operate fifty-six stores. In 2008, the company opened a store in The Netherlands in Rotterdam, which expanded over time to twenty stores.

In 2009, the company expanded in Europe, setting up stores in Portugal and Germany. The company also opened Belgium-based stores in Lisbon, Bremen, and Liege. These stores expanded to include ten stores in Portugal, thirty-one in Germany, and eight in Belgium. In 2012, Primark opened in Austria, with its Innsbruck store—the first out of five in the country. In 2023, the company announced plans to expand its presence in the southern United States with twenty-four stores.
