Muon is a decentralized nodes-as-a-service Network that enables the operation of Web2 and Web3 applications, off-chain, on-chain, and cross-chain. The network serves as a base layer and connects blockchains in the DeFi ecosystem.

Muon exists between blockchains, links different protocols, and enables them to communicate with each other, ensuring blockchain interoperability. Muon's elementary node layer enables external smart contracts to perform complex computations through off-chain computation. The network offers this performance to partnering blockchain projects in different fields, by means of its "data-on-demand" principle.

Protocol

Muon secures real-time data feeds and permissionless cross-chain communication. It is a layer-0 solution used to unify different blockchains into one ecosystem.

For Users

Muon is compared to Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the decentralized universe. It computes, verifies, and sends data between blockchain protocols & dApps.

For Developers

Muon serves as the decentralized processing unit and memory (CPU & RAM) of the decentralized economy. The protocol consists of different nodes that process and sign data upon request and also push sensitive data to smart contracts on blockchains.

Muon is not a blockchain. It is a stateless protocol utilizing smart contracts to reach consensus. Nodes must deposit collateral in a Muon smart contract upfront, to ensure that malicious behavior is punished through slashing. Web3 (and based) applications can make use of external data without bothering about the validity of its origins, its security, and response times (sub-block time).

Features

Muon is not limited to one application. The protocol’s base-layer does not house any applications, since the base-layer is a network of nodes continuously trying to reach consensus. Developers can build atop Muon’s base layer. Any kind of application that requires consensus to alter its state can use Muon. The Muon network is expanding, and more utilities will be unlocked in the form of Muon apps. The network offers an oracle network called Pythia, including permissionless cross-chain bridges.

  • Secure Subsequential Consensus: In design, Muon appears similar to proof-of-stake (PoS) systems. However, the core consensus layer is another type of system called Secure Subsequential Consensus. Through adaptive collateralization, the protocol enables execution times and ensures that node consensus can be reached. Consensus can be reached after the transaction is mined, and depending on the transactional value, the collateralization is dynamic.
  • Scalability: Muon is not influenced by the preservation of state across nodes. The Muon network is not a chain and does not permanently store data. As a result, it can scale horizontally.
  • Decentralized Computation: With Muon, Web3 apps can operate tamper-proof computations (Python, Java, C, C++, Rust, etc.) in their own Muon app containers. Nodes operating the same application can communicate and work together.
  • Customizable: Nodes are not needed to operate all apps and can opt-in or out of the program they'd like to operate on their machine. Over time, the division between the kinds of nodes available in the network will be evident. Specialized nodes run specific apps, while general nodes run different kinds of apps. As a result, Web3 developers can shift between the trade-offs the configuration yields.

Roadmap
Completed
  • Finalize the Oracle Prototype: The Pythia Oracle is the prototype application built on Muon. It runs on DEUS Finance, delivering price feeds from different sources.
  • Securing Seed Round for Strategic Investors: The seed round of the Moun presale for strategic investors and partners is complete.
  • Litepaper Release
  • Partner onboarded - FEAR
  • DAOmaker SHO (IDO): IDO for the participants of Muon's partner's IDO: the DAOmaker SHO.
In Progress
  • Onboarding Strategic Partnerships
  • Exchange Listings
  • Introduce Partners: Muon has several projects building atop the protocol and will release an official statement regarding them
  • More Chain Launches connecting the different blockchains is the next step in the decentralization of Muon.
  • Muon Launchpad: Its launchpad services will be provided to partners with a wide range of use cases, like Defi, gaming, NFTs and others, beginning initially with their partner FEAR.
Testing
  • Trustless Bridge for DEUS Finance: Muon is developing a trustless bridge for DEUS Finance to bridge tokens to any chain.
  • Release Muon SDK for closed beta test: Muon has released the Muon SDK and platform to strategic platforms for a beta test. Developers are able to build with Muon and provide feedback that they can use to refine the tools.
  • Opening Muon presale to multiple communities: The presale phase is open to qualifying members of the DEUS Finance community. Users who want access to the next Muon presale round are required to fill in a whitelist application with how they will bring value to the network.
  • Permissionless Bridge: Muon bridges are permissionless and decentralized. All trust lies in the code, with the consensus being reached by different nodes.
Token Standard
  • Token Standard: Muon created a multi-chain token standard and is working on the $MUON Launch.
  • Multichain Token: This enables cross-chain transactions, using its decentralized node-network. The multi-chain token standard provides the infrastructure for partners to launch and operate their own native tokens on different chains. Illustratively, a partner can launch a native token that operates on Polygon, BSC, and Avalanche blockchains simultaneously, with the transaction and balance data shared across the different chains and front-end apps.
  • Multichain NFT
  • Permissionless NFT Bridge
  • Non-EVM Chains support
